Geotrivia terms and conditions

These terms apply to consumers who create a user account or purchase a Geotrivia Pro subscription through geotrivia.com.

The provider of the Geotrivia services and contracting party for Geotrivia Pro subscriptions purchased directly on the website is Philipp Levent Förster, Bahnhofsplatz 2, 65428 Rüsselsheim am Main, Germany. Email: contact@geotrivia.com.

You can use many games without an account. Features such as saved progress, statistics, friendships, and Geotrivia Pro require an account through a supported sign-in provider.

Your account is personal. Keep access to your sign-in provider secure, do not give your account to another person, and notify us if you suspect unauthorised use. Information you provide must be accurate and must not be unlawful or infringe third-party rights.

You can delete your account in the account settings. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an active subscription; cancel the subscription first through the applicable channel.

Geotrivia provides geography games, statistics, social features, and other content over the internet. For Geotrivia Pro, the feature set described on the offer page when the contract is concluded applies.

For the duration of your use, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the services as intended. In particular, you may not bypass access controls, scrape or manipulate the service through automation, or reproduce or distribute content beyond what the law permits.

You need an internet connection and a current browser or supported mobile device. Maintenance, security measures, or technical faults may temporarily limit availability.

Geotrivia Pro unlocks the archive of past daily games and removes Geotrivia advertising. The offer page describes any additional features included in the contract before you order.

For web subscriptions, the checkout displays the gross total including applicable VAT, billing period, term, renewal and cancellation conditions, and payment method immediately before you order. “Continue to payment” only opens that checkout. You place the binding order through the final button that clearly states the payment obligation, and you can review and correct your entries first.

We accept your order by sending an electronic contract confirmation or activating Geotrivia Pro. You will then receive confirmation on a durable medium. The contract languages are German and English.

The total displayed in checkout is the applicable gross price. Web subscriptions are billed by the payment provider shown there. Geotrivia does not store complete card or bank details.

Web monthly plan: billed monthly in advance and renewed one month at a time until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect no later than the end of the current billing month.

Web annual plan: initially 12 months and billed annually in advance. It then continues indefinitely and remains billed yearly. You may then cancel at any time on no more than one month’s notice; we refund unused prepayments pro rata.

Cancel a web subscription in your account, through the public cancellation function, or by emailing contact@geotrivia.com. Manage purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play through the relevant store; the payment, cancellation, and refund terms shown there apply in addition.

For a subscription purchased directly through the website, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days after it is concluded without giving a reason.

You can withdraw by emailing contact@geotrivia.com. Sending your declaration before the deadline is sufficient. The model form in the annex is optional.

Following a valid withdrawal, we refund payments received without undue delay and no later than 14 days using the same payment method unless agreed otherwise. You pay no fee, and we do not charge compensation for use before withdrawal.

For an app-store purchase, send the withdrawal declaration to the party identified by the store for that contract.

Statutory digital-product rights apply. If a required service is defective, you may request a remedy and, where the legal conditions are met, reduce the price or end the contract.

We provide legally required updates. We may also change Geotrivia Pro for a valid reason where necessary to comply with changed legal requirements, address security risks, or maintain compatibility with browsers, operating systems, payment services, and sign-in providers. Such changes do not impose additional costs on you.

If a change impairs access or usability beyond a minor degree, we will provide reasonable advance notice on a durable medium describing the change and its timing, as well as your statutory right to end the contract without charge within 30 days. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence and fraud, for an expressly assumed guarantee, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product-liability law.

For a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual duty, liability is limited to the foreseeable loss typical for the contract. Liability for other slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Mandatory statutory claims, including your rights concerning defective digital products, are not limited by this section.
